Naya Rivera Fired From Glee; Contract Not Renewed for Season Six

Naya Rivera is moving on from Glee. After months of mounting tensionsome of it with costar Lea Michelethe actress, 27, has been fired from the FOX musical series, multiple sources confirm to Us Weekly. The New York Daily News, which was first to report the story on Tuesday April 29, writes that Rivera "went off" during a disagreement with the show's producers, and that her contract for season six has not been renewed.

Reps for the network had no comment, and Rivera's rep did not respond to requests for comment;  Rivera has been noticeably absent in recent promos for the show, and has reportedly been written out of the season five finale, and her trailer has already been removed from the studio lot.

As Us reported earlier this month, Rivera had previously complained to show runners that Michele, 27, held up filming. "Naya is jealous that Lea is the show's main star," one series insider told Us. Another source added that the rivals "talk behind each other's backs a lot." Ultimately, however, Michele had little to do with Rivera's departure, according to the News.

It's been a tumultuous few months for the actress who played catty cheerleader Santana on Glee: She and fiance Big Sean recently called off their engagement and sparred very publicly via social media.
